There are few creatures more fragile than the butterfly. So God lovingly created each one with the instinct to protect and preserve herself during storms, knowing that rain and wind could damage her wings.
As soon as the skies start to darken, she seeks shelter and hides herself from the danger. Then, she waits. She will know when the time to emerge is right. Next, she remains very still, to allow any lingering moisture to evaporate in the sun. Finally, she spreads her wings and resumes her flight.

We could learn much from this beautifully delicate friend.
- If you are in a dark and stormy season right now, it’s okay to hide away to rest for a bit. In fact, it’s good! Just be mindful to seek your respite in the secret place of the Most High.(Psalm 91:1)
- While the storm rages, wait patiently. This part is hard, but rushing the process is risking your recovery and resilience. Wait on the Lord; He will sustain you. (Psalm 27:14)
- Sit in His presence and be still. Know that He is still on the throne, He is still God, and He is still good. Allow the Son to do what He does best: remove, redeem and restore. (Psalm 37:7)
- Hold on to hope, my fellow valley-walker. Even in the darkest, deepest, most isolated place, you are never alone. He is there. He sees. He knows. He’s still unveiling your story.
When the time is right and the storm has passed, you will fly again. (Isaiah 40:31)
