Meet “Daddy Doll.” When Korinna was a baby, we were shopping at a department store and we heard her calling from the cart “Dada, Dada!” We turned just in time to see her sucking on this doll’s face. Since we couldn’t exactly put him back on the shelf with baby drool on him, we reluctantly bought her the Albert Pujols plush, even though we were not Cardinals fans. For the last 11 years Daddy Doll has been tucked in bed with baby girl every. single. night. In fact, whenever daddy doll got misplaced, no one in the Smith family got any sleep!
This morning, I woke to find him tucked in my bed beside me. ❤️
These sweet girls, even in the midst of their own agony, are trying to take care of their mama. Every day, I am reminded what a precious gift they are, and I am so incredibly grateful.
