Love Bends Down

She was exhausted. She was out of her comfort zone. She’d had enough. So, he just sat with her. For as long as it took.

Because love bends down.

Like a good earthly father sits by his struggling child—tenderly, lovingly, patiently—so our good heavenly Father stoops down to us in our need. For as long as it takes.

He is not repelled by our pain, our anger, even our ugliness. He listens to each word, each bitter sob, each angry diatribe, every question, every accusation, even our silence.

When we are overwhelmed with fear and grief…

When we don’t have the strength to run to Him…

When we cannot even turn our eyes upward…

We can rest assured that He is right there, sitting with us in our sorrow, hearing our anguish, moved with compassion by our pain. Patiently, He waits—ready, willing and able—to restore our strength, lift us up, and place our feet on solid ground once again.

Keep crying out…

Because Love bends down.

Ps. 116:2
Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!
