If Sunrise Should Come Without Me

I’ll Be There

If sunrise should ever come without me
And there’s no “good morning” to be said
If your saddened heart should doubt me
I want these thoughts to fill your head:

Sooner the sun would fail to rise
And sooner the moon, melt away
Than ever my love should fade or falter
Or ever my heart from you would stray.

If I could write on wings of songbirds
And paint the sky with rays of light
I’d send you love songs, pure and tender
Whose echoes linger into night.

The breeze would carry, on its whisper
My words of love from another place
And every drop of rain to touch you
Would be my fingers on your face

I’d smile down on you with rainbows
And brush your skin with breezes light
And then as sunset splays it’s colors
You’d feel my gentle kiss goodnight

If ever the dawn should break without me
Don’t ever think that I don’t care.
A love like ours cannot be broken
Just think of me and I’ll be there.
