A Griever’s 23rd Psalm

I walked through the valley of the shadow of death
But You were with me
You never left me (Ps 23)

Sobs wracked my body ’til there were no tears left
You wrote them all down (Ps 56:8)
Your comfort, my crown (Is 61:3)

The memories and terrors kept my mind from rest
But You renewed me (Eph 4:23)
Sent angels to me (Ps 91:5, 11)

When I chased after things that were not Your best
Your love constrained me (2 Cor 5:14)
Unlocked what chained me (Ps 107:14)

When fear, guilt and worry were my daily script
Your power I’d find
With love and sound mind (2 Tim 1:7)

And even when I doubted, even when I slipped
Your hand reached for me (Ps 144:7)
Upheld by mercy (Pr 20:28)

🎶🎶🎶

You’re my good, good shepherd and I’ve never wanted.
All I’ve needed, you’ve supplied.
All my life long I’ve heard that You’re good
Now I’ve seen with my own eyes.

No evil thing can overtake me
You triumph o’er the Enemy
Your goodness and mercy are relentless
All of my life, chasing me.

🎶🎶🎶

I walked through the valley of the shadow of death
But You were with me
You never left me….
